Appeal to stop this recently bereaved dad and his 5 kids from losing their home

Ray Flavin’s heartbreaking story has made headlines in recent days.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help the bereaved father of five children who has been threatened with the loss of his home in Kerry by Bank of Ireland.

Despite admitting earlier this year that Ray Flavin had overpaid on his tracker mortgage, the bank is fighting his appeal against a repossession order that would see him and his five children lose their home in Lisselton.

To make matters so much worse, Ray’s wife Trish died suddenly in January this year at the age of just 38.

According to The Journal, the bank had also included almost eight acres of Flavin’s father’s land in the repossession order despite the fact that it had not been mortgaged.

Now, a GoFundMe page has been set up by Ray’s friend Brian Fuohy and – at the time of writing – over €11,250 of a €20,000 goal had been raised to help Ray and his family stay in the home they had built.
