An interesting list.
Most of us celebrated Father’s Day yesterday. Some gave cards, other gave dinners, and it’s safe to say that the dads in our lives were pretty chuffed no matter what they received.
However, now Ireland’s most influential dads have been revealed, and some of our faves are in the top ten.
The research was carried out by Empathy Research for P and G cards, and found that Liam Neeson bagged the top spot with 39 percent giving him the vote for best dad, while our president Michael D Higgins came in second and Dermot Bannon also making the list.
Outside of Ireland, the top three dads were Barack Obama (no complaints there), followed by David Beckham and Prince William came in third.
Here’s the top five most influential father figures in Ireland:
Liam Neeson – 39 percent
Michael D Higgins – 23 percent
Johnny Sexton – 17 percent
Ryan Tubridy – 9 percent
Dermot Bannon – 5 percent
Bono – 3 percent
Michael Healy Rae – 3 percent
