Kildare grandad fights for grandson to travel abroad for life saving cancer treatment

A Kildare grandad is fighting for his grandson to travel abroad for life saving cancer treatment.

Odhrán Staunton Doherty has been receiving treatment in Ireland since his diagnosis, however the results have not been as positive as his family had hoped.

The three-year-old now needs to travel to France for two operations in two separate hospitals to receive the appropriate treatment.

His grandad, Paul Staunton, has set up a fundraiser in the hope of ensuring Odhrán gets the medical attention he needs.

“He is only 3 years old and is fighting with all his might,” said Paul.

The grandad has already raised almost €5,000 for Odhrán’s treatment, however he still needs a further €15,000 to send the toddler to France.

Another fundraiser for Odhrán will also be held on Friday, February 8 in Curragh Camp, Kildare.
