Mumsnet user 'lovingtyrells' has shared a post about her troubles, saying that her mother-in-law is "driving me insane."
She wrote:
"We are temporarily living with my MIL (mother-in-law) paying over the odds so she is benefiting financially and likes the company. "She is obsessed with the newborn which I guess is natural. But she constantly tells us what to do, more me I guess. "Takes the baby off me when she wants, barges in when I am changing the nappy and tells me I am doing it wrong. "I really can't take it and (I'm) getting snappy with her now because I need to do things my way (...) But I can't take being critiqued constantly for small things."The new mum also added that her husband is being no help and instead just saying that his mother has years of experience with eight kids so why shouldn't she lend a hand? Charming.
Essentially, 'lovingtyrells' was looking for advice.
And Mumsnet gave it to her quite simply - move out.
"Why are you living with her?" asked one user.
"Move out or put your foot down. How dare she take your baby off you," wrote another.
The mum eventually replied saying she couldn't move out for a year (grim), but that she was worried about her baby getting into "bad habits."
"Maybe I will have to speak to her but I am scared (...) I know that sounds stupid," she wrote.Explore more on these topics:
