The parents of a Cork boy with terminal cancer are now facing losing their home due to increased financial strain.

Seven-year-old Fionn Doyle was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 18-months-old.

Parents Eimear and Jack, from Kildorrery, ensured that their son received all the steroid and chemo treatments he needed. He was also able to receive a bone marrow transplant which took.

However, during the early summer months of this year, Eimear and Jack received the news that their son’s caner had returned and that it was terminal.

Fionn’s family say the boy has spent the past seven months making “special memories” with his family, all the while fighting the cancer with all he’s got.

“On the 8th December, Fionn’s family decided to have an early Christmas so that Fionn could experience this special day one last time,” Fionn’s GoFundMe page reads.

“However as we are getting closer to Christmas, Fionn and his family are hoping that he can make it to the real Christmas on the 25th.”

Amidst all of this heartbreak, Eimear and Jack are also faced with the prospect of losing their home.

They recently received news that their mortgage had been resold – only adding to the financial pressure that they are already facing not being able to work so they can spend time with their son.

The family are hoping to raise enough money to keep their home and to spend as much time with Fionn as they can.

Due to immeasurable support from the public, they have already reached €24,000 of their €30,000 goal.
