Terminally ill Roscommon brothers write heartbreaking letter to Santa

Usually, when children write their letters to Santa, they consist of the following.

Toys, food, games, phones, clothes, or gadgets. They don't tend to involve wishes that will help cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or items to ensure that the pain caused by the condition is not so terrible. But this is the reality for three boys from Roscommon. Archie, George, and Isaac are three brothers who all share the same condition - Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or DMD. DMD is a rare disease affecting the muscles, causing weakness in the body and muscle degeneration. As of yet, no cure has been found. That's why, this year, Archie decided to write to Santa and ask him for a cure for DMD. Similarly, his brothers also asked for things that would help them cope with their condition better. A Facebook post shared on Join Our Boys detailed the children's Christmas wishes. It read:

"Today the boys have been finishing their letters to Father Christmas. What could be more normal at this time of year? "Unfortunately Duchenne casts a shadow over the happiest of occasions. It is like a cancer that if allowed, invades the loveliest of moments. So little is normal anymore. "Within the text of the boys's hopes for Christmas were the following statements: "Archie: A Cure for DMD. "George: A warm Jacuzzi to help my muscles. "Isaac: New legs so that I can run fast like my friends. "How the hell do you respond to those as a parent? If only Fr. Christmas delivered Miracles."

The heartbreaking post has been shared over 80 times with almost 60 people sharing their support for the family. "Maybe Santa will have that special gift in his sack," hoped one user. "No child should ever have to think like that at Christmas," said another. You can donate to Join Our Boys here.
