Hit the flix this weekend, here's what to see.

Just because it’s January doesn’t mean you should hibernate all month. Here’s a few things to get you out and about from around the country.

Our top picks from the flix

Testament of Youth, starts tonight in cinemas across the country. It’s a first world war film that chronicles the life of Vera Brittain who postponed her studies at Oxford University to serve as a Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse in London, Malta and France. It’s a tear jerker about an extraordinary woman’s spirit, starring Dominic West, Hayley Atwell and Alice Vikander. We’re loving the star-studded cast.

Wild, is Reese Witherspoon’s (now Oscar nominated for her role in the film) new movie that launched yesterday in cinemas around the country. The film follows Witherspoon’s character Cheryl Strayed, who decided to hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail by herself chronicles Cheryl’s journey to heal herself, after her divorce, the death of her mother, and years of destructive behaviour.
