Reddit, the parent wrote, "My daughter is currently pulling a D- in math. This is her phone." The message underneath the framed phone reads, "In case of 'B' break glass."
Currently, the photo has received almost 1,000 comments, but the course of action seems to have provoked a Marmite effect, with people either loving or hating the idea.

The last comment makes a good point - we don't know the full story. Maybe the daughter just needed motivation to get back on track; or, maybe the parent was being too harsh and she needed help rather than punishment. Whatever the story, we wonder if the tactic worked.
