For any music fans, there will be a Here We Go Looby Loo! event in the Irish Traditional Music Archive, Dublin, that looks at Irish Traditional Music through the years. Or there's a 1919 children's football blitz in St Conleth's Park, Newbridge for the football fans. There will be an evening of storytelling and song at Fort Dunree in Donegal, archery in The Irish National Heritage Park, Wexford, Characters & Costumes in the 1700s at Kevin Street Library, Dublin, a children's craft workshop in Tourmakeady, Co. Mayo, a children's historical treasure hunt at Michael Collins House in Cork, a children's tour of Kilmainham Gaol, colouring in our past at Scoil Phádraig, Kildare, and loads, loads more.
No matter what your little one is into, you can be sure there will be so much going on to fascinate them (and loads happening for the parents too!).
Ireland has such a varied, rich history that there's something for all ages and all interests to learn about and try out. It's the perfect opportunity to organise a proper family day out where everyone gets to learn a bit about their country and heritage.
For a full list of all the activities happening over National Heritage Week, including all the things happening on Wild Child Day, head over to the National Heritage Week website.
So get looking, get booking, and get out there, everyone.
