This outdoor cinema in Belfast has a line up of classic movies the kids will love

Melissa Carton

What a lineup!

This outdoor cinema will be playing some classic children’s movies that your kids will love, and to be honest you will too.

Part of Belfast Film Festival this selection of films has something for everyone.

Running from July 21 to 22, this film festival is packed full of films for all the family.

From 1980s favourites The Goonies (look kids it’s Bob from Stranger Things), Back To The Future and Ghostbusters to beloved Pixar picks Up and Toy Story, everyone attending is in for a real treat.

If you manage to get a sitter you can even head to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I’ve been to a few outdoor film screenings in Dublin and the atmosphere is always incredible. There’s just something different about watching movies outdoors, maybe it’s because you’re not afraid of opening your bag of Maltesers really loudly.

I haven’t been to any of the drive-through ones yet though, they’re next on my list, after that I have my eye on the ones where you can watch Jaws while floating in the sea.

Summer cinema at City Hall is taking place in Belfast City Centre this July and the variety of movies are so good I might just have to plan a road trip.

All screenings during the film festival are free but need to be booked in advance on their website.
