I remember being told 'oh you think you're tired, wait till you have children'.

I also remember laughing at the time. I laugh no more. Between toddlers who like to pop up beside your beside at night and frighten the bejesus out of you and teething babies waking up every couple of hours, being tired as a parent really is an experience in itself. I would have said it was an indescribable experience but I came across one post recently that so accurately summed it up it made me wonder why I'd never thought of it myself. Nail on the head! It doesn't matter what time I go to bed at I always wake up the next morning feeling like I've barely had any sleep. One big problem I have is 'phantom crying' , where you think you hear the baby crying so you jump up out of bed only to realise that the house is completely quiet and the baby is sound asleep. It is also a common culprit when you're trying to have a shower but keep turning it on and off because you think your can hear your child calling for you. Sleep aside I think parenting itself is a new experience in tired and I myself look forward to finally getting a good night's sleep, you know, when I'm around 60.
