Sure, the annual uniform shop and book gathering process is a pain. But in just a few weeks, parents across Ireland will breathe a sigh of relief when kids of all ages head back to the classroom.
For many, the start of a new school year heralds the return of something else too: a teeny tiny window of peace and quiet.
That’s something Alabama’s Keisha Leanna Gardner decided to celebrate with a hilarious tradition: a back-to-school family portrait that mums everywhere will identify with.
Posting a photo of her sullen kids in the background as she jumps for joy on her Instagram and Facebook page, Keisha said: ‘Happy 1st day of school kids. I’m gonna miss y’all,’
The image, which has been shared thousands of times, shows five kids wearing school clothes and carrying rucksacks attempting to hide their grins as their mum leaps into the foreground.
