Picking names? 11 surefire signs that you’re getting broody

HerFamily

Is your biological clock ringing?

Are you ready to welcome the pitter patter of tiny feet? Do you think it’s time to expand the family?

To help you answer those questions, we’ve compiled a list of the signs that you have babies on your mind.

These are 11 signs that you’re getting broody…

You have the names picked out already

We’re not talking about having an idea of a few names that you like, we mean that you’ve discussed them seriously with friends and tried them with potential middle names and surnames.

You lose your cool EVERY time you see a baby

Like a moth to a flame. It’s almost like you can’t control the sounds or movements of your body when there’s a cute ickle baby in the vicinity.

And you turn into a babbling mess when you’re talking to and/or about said baby

Because it’s inevitable that you will approach the parents and/or make faces at the baby before later telling someone about how adorable they were.

You are obsessed with looking at nurseries on Instagram

You may not even have a spare room but you’ve already picked out the furniture, chosen a colour and decided that you do want a cot that turns into a bed.

You invite yourself to your friends’ and families’ houses where there are babies

Sure you haven’t visited your cousin in years but it’s about time you reconnected around about the time that the baby is awake and you can get loads of cuddles.

You keep saying “when I have a baby…”

Unbeknownst to you, most of your plans will go out the window when said baby comes, but that doesn’t stop your imagination.

You can’t get enough of babies (or baby animals)

Babies, babies, babies!

You know that you live close to a number of schools

Yes, their education is years away but you already have the schools earmarked and have researched fees, uniforms and after-school activities.

You’re obsessed with maternity and baby clothes

Sure, everyone thinks that tiny shoes and dresses are lovely but you are actually considering buying them. In fact, you may have already purchased a few items for “safekeeping.”

You’ve spoken to your other half about it

Be it in a hypothetical manner or not, you’ve sussed out where they’re at when it comes to having kids… albeit it with a few glasses of vino in you.

You proudly rub your stomach when you have a food baby

It might only be pizza and chocolate cake in there for now but you can’t help but think that this is what your stomach will be like when you have a little one on the way (with a few kicks etc. thrown in).
