There’s big babies and then there’s record-breaking babies.

Colin Austin Kiesler became the latter when he was born weighing an eye-watering 14.4lbs at Lexington Medical Centre – the largest baby ever born there.

Colin was born last Friday and was a lot bigger than his parents were expecting.

Mum Cindy said she was expecting him to be bigger than her first two children, making a guess at 12lbs, but was still surprised on the day.

“My oldest son was about 7.6lbs and my daughter was 9.8lbs, so they just kept on increasing,” Cindy told Fox.

“As soon as he was born, a nurse said that she had a granddaughter that was five months old and was just now 14lbs.”

When her son was born, Cindy and dad Arthur had to throw out all the clothes and nappies they had bought for him and run to the nearest supermarket to restock.

“They didn’t even have diapers at the hospital,” Arthur said. “They had to run to CVS for diapers because they didn’t have them in his sizes.”
