16 nurses working at same hospital all expecting babies over next few months

Sixteen.

Six. Teen.

If you went to an all-girls Catholic secondary school, you’ll be more than familiar with the sensation of being in a room with a lot of pregnant people in one go.

No shade, just sayin’. It happens.

And it’s happened in a hospital in the States too as 16 nurses are currently pregnant at the same time all expecting to give birth to their babies over the next few months.

The intensive care nurses work at Banner Desert Medical Center in Arizona, near Phoenix, and all of the 16 expectant mothers will be welcoming their babies between October and January.

USA Today reports that the nurses didn’t realise how many of them were pregnant at the same time until they started a Facebook group.

Nurse Jolene Garrow said that all of their colleagues have been very helpful and willing to take care of the patients whose illnesses could be dangerous for expectant mothers.

She also joked that: “We all formulated this plan to have the holidays off.”

Good plan, guys.

Good plan.

Each of the 16 mums-to-be were gifted a baby grow by the hospital reading: “Relax! My mom is a Banner nurse!” during a press conference they held this week.

Once each of the women takes their maternity leave, other nurses who do not usually work hospital shifts will be drafted in to cover for them.

Good to know.
