“If in doubt mammas, ALWAYS check.”

Alex Jones was taken to hospital earlier today after she couldn’t feel her unborn baby move.

The One Show presenter said that she hadn’t been feeling much movement from her baby, so she decided to go to hospital to check that everything was OK.

Alex shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed saying that it was “so reassuring” to hear her baby’s healthy heartbeat.

On Instagram Stories, she wrote:

“Hadn’t felt much movement from the baby for a few days so lying here being monitored. If in doubt mammas, ALWAYS check!

“So reassuring to hear the heartbeat.”

Alex later followed up with another post thanking people for their kind messages. She confirmed that everything was absolutely fine and that her baby’s heart was “going like the clappers.”

“All was fine at the hospital,” she wrote. “His or hers little heart beat was going like the clappers. But good to check. Thanks for the messages.”

Alex announced that she and husband Charlie Thompson were expecting their second child last December. Their first child, Teddy, was born in 2017.

After the birth of her first, the presenter said that she was “deluded” to think she could have gone back to work so soon.

“I went back too soon. I was still trying to feed going back to work,” she said.

“After the meeting, I’d try and express, then go into the rehearsal, and go back and try and express a little bit more, and my milk was in the fridge with all the food being given to the guests.

“I was completely deluded. I was like, this is not working and this is a nightmare.”
