Amy Schumer has shared a photo depicting the reality of hyperemesis.
The comedian is now in her second trimester of pregnancy, but she says that she is still struggling with severe nausea and vomiting.
Posting a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed, Schumer apologised to her fans for having to reschedule some of her shows in Texas.
She said that although she was “very lucky to be pregnant (…) this is some bullshit.”

“Texas I am so deeply sorry,” she wrote.
“I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule. I am in the hospital. I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story.”
Schumer went on to say that she had been even more unwell this trimester due to hyperemesis – “and it blows.”

“Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit!” she said.
“Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I’ll be out there as soon as I’m better.”
Schumer announced her pregnancy last month through an Instagram post about the US mid-term elections.
This will be her and husband Chris Fischer’s first child.
