This is the average amount of attempts it takes to get pregnant

Interesting statistics here.

We know that many couples have a difficult time conceiving and it can be one of the most stressful things for couples to go through. There are simply so many factors to take into consideration when it comes to our fertility.

An analysis carried out by Channel Mum shed some light on the matter. Seemingly, it takes the average couple a total of 78 attempts before successfully conceiving a baby.

The study asked 1,194 parents in the UK to share their experience in trying for a baby with most of them having sex, on average, 13 times a month.

Half of the women claimed they tried to plan sex around ovulation or when they were most fertile, as well as admitting that they were the ones to initiate sex more often in the hopes of making a baby.

The amount of sex did vary among the couples. Five percent said they had sex 21-25 times per month, ten percent said they engaged in sex 15-25 times per month and another five percent managed to get pregnant while having one successful romp over an entire month.

Half of the couples surveyed declared they had sex more frequently in the hopes of having a baby. While over a third of women, along with 51 percent of men admitted they loved spending more time in the bedroom, 18 percent felt it had become more of a chore.

The study also showed that 39 percent of women made extra efforts such as eating more nutritious foods and taking vitamins in a bid to improve their health.

Women also said the most popular positions for getting pregnant were missionary and doggy style.
