We’re Not Quite Sure What To Make of This Particular Baby Name Trend

Baby name trends come and go, just like the popularity of particular monikers, but we don’t quite know what to make of the latest one.

It seems that names related to guns have risen up the baby name charts in recent years.

According to the website Nameberry, the title ‘Gunner’ was given to more than 1,500 baby boys last year with the alternative ‘Gunnar’ also doing well.

Cannon also ranked highly with Trigger, Shooter, Magnum and Pistol all being chosen by a number of parents in the US between 2014 and 2015.

Names inspired by gun manufacturers are said to be on the rise too, with the likes of Remington, Beretta and Wesson appearing more regularly.

Nameberry reports that other monikers with violent connotations are spreading as well such as Arrow, Blade, Saw, Archer and Dagger.

More unique ones chosen by new parents include Rowdy, Harsh, Arson, Chaos, Mayhem and Danger.
