It’s divided the internet.
Real Madrid footballer Gareth Bale and his soon-to-be wife, Emma Rhys-Jones welcomed their third child today and the name they decided on received a major reaction.
Sharing an image of his son on both his Instagram and Twitter accounts, Gareth wrote:
“We are delighted to welcome a baby boy into our family this morning. Axel Charles Bale 08.05.18”.

It wasn’t long before people started commenting on the unusual choice.
The replies ranged from asking him if he meant to write Alex instead of Axel, to comparisons to Guns n’ Roses singer Axl Rose.
However, some simply said it was a lovely name and offered their congratulations.
The couple, who are due to marry later this year, also have two daughters, Alba Violet (5) and Nava Valentina (2).
They met as teenagers when they both went to school in Cardiff and got engaged two years ago.
Their wedding will take place in Tuscany, Italy and rumour has it that they’ve asked Beyoncé to perform.
