Ryan Reynolds has shared the sweet inspiration behind his daughter James’ name

We're not crying at all. Just have something in our eye.

As fans of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will know, the couple have two daughters, James and Inez. And while the couple are notoriously private when it comes to their little ones. Both of their daughter's names were under wraps for awhile, while Inez' gender was also kept secret - that is, until her dad let it slip in an interview. However, Ryan has now opened up about his eldest daughter: in particular, the reason why they chose to name her James.  According to Marie Claire, the Deadpool actor told Mr Porter that she was named after his father, who passed away in 2015 after a battle with Parkinson's disease. He continued to explain how he had had a complicated relationship with his father, which his wife, Blake Lively, helped bridge. He explained:

"It felt right. "All family relationships come with some complications. For better or worse, all roads lead to here. "At the end of the day, it’s easier to focus on the good stuff than the bad. My father died soon after my daughter was born, but he got to see her, which makes me happy."

It comes as Blake shared that people had been spelling their youngest daughter's name wrong. The actress previously gave an interview where she explained the confusion but for some reason, it's only coming to light now. Chatting with People in September of last year, she said:

"I had a new baby, Inez, with a ‘z’ even though everyone says it’s with an ‘s.’ I don’t know why, please tell Wikipedia".
