‘Biggest baby born in 5 years’… say hello to Theo, the 12 pound baby

He wouldn't even fit in his baby clothes!

What a beautiful boy!

After six hours in labour, Paula Brown welcomed a gorgeous son… weighing 12 pounds, 4.5 ounces!

As Paula gave birth in Blackburn Birthing Centre, the nurses and doctors couldn’t believe that size of the baby at first.

However, the new mum says that even after all the work, it was totally worth it.

Speaking to The Metro, Paula said, “It was not pleasant and it was hard work and tiring. But the end result of it all is just fantastic”.

Paula’s husband, Gareth said: “They said it was the biggest baby out of the last 4,500.”

Baby Theo had to stay in hospital for a few days, after he contracted a jaundice infection.

The doting dad told the publication: “Everybody is doing fine now, Theo is home and well.

“He’s absolutely brilliant. Our youngest daughter Rose, who is five, just absolutely loves him.”

And speaking about before baby Theo arrived, Gareth said his weight was a surprise for everyone.

“We were all making guesses at what weight the baby would come in, but nobody was expecting that.

“The midwife cancelled her dentist appointment to make sure she was there for the birth, they hadn’t seen anything like it.

“All of the staff at the birthing centre were absolutely fantastic with us, we can’t thank them enough. Everyone at the Burnley hospital were great as well.

“It was strange, most of the babies there were tiny and Theo was huge!”

We’re delighted baby Theo is healthy and happy!
