“It can be so worrying”: Stacey Solomon responds to concerns about her ‘very small’ bump

Kat O'Connor

“It can be so worrying for the mummy growing a human.”

Stacey Solomon has been sharing her pregnancy journey with her millions of followers on Instagram, but her honesty has often been met with judgement and nasty comments.

The mum recently opened up about the size of her baby bump after numerous people expressed their concerns about how small it was.

The presenter explained that she had a scan over the weekend and her daughter is perfectly well.

“Lots of people have said my bump is very small, and it really is measuring at 2% instead of 20% but thankfully baby is exactly where she needs to be today despite my tummy size.

“Every pregnancy, every bump and every baby is different. And as kind, as people are I think sometimes it’s important to remember when telling someone they look “big” or “small” or anything in between it can be so worrying for the mummy growing a human and worrying why they look so different to someone else,” the mum wrote.

Stacey said these comments can be really scary, especially when you’re already feeling vulnerable and emotional during your pregnancy.

“I know people don’t mean any harm by saying “you’re so petite and tiny” but it definitely has played on my mind a lot and made me worry I wasn’t growing properly.”

Stacey’s message couldn’t be more true. Commenting on someone’s bump size may seem harmless, but you don’t know how that comment will make them feel so it is best to say nothing at all.

Pregnancy is already an overwhelming and emotional experience without the pass remarkable comments.
