Dad-to-be creates an online petition to settle a baby name row

He is at loggerheads with his wife

Sive O'Brien

Trying to decide on a baby name that both parents love isn’t always easy, but this dad-to-be is SO in disagreement with his wife over what to call their unborn baby that he started an online petition about it.

The couple don’t know the gender of their baby yet, but if they have a boy, Nicholas Soukeras wants to call his first son Spyridon, after his father. His wife, Kseniya, isn’t so keen on the name, however, so the soon-to-be dad turned to the internet for support.

His petition, which is called Godly Right to Name First-Born Son Spyridon, features a five-point argument, as well as five counterpoints, outlining why naming their child Spyridon, if it is a boy, is the right thing to do. Currently, the petition has over 5,000 signatures and (much to our amazement) his wife has agreed that if it reaches 1000,000, she will let him have his way.

We reckon she might feel differently after doing all the hard work of giving birth. Let’s just hope they have a girl.
