Their names are so cute.

“We wanted this since forever.”

One of the Irish couples who appeared on TV3’s documentary The Babymakers this year has welcomed twin girls.

After a long battle with IVF, the Newbridge couple were overjoyed to find out they were expecting in the finale of the four part series.

Fiona Gibson and her husband Eoghan reportedly welcomed their daughters, Alannah and Aoife, on December 8.

Fiona told the Independent.ie:

“We wanted this since forever.

“Alannah was born first and she was six pounds 13, and then Aoife was born one minute later and she was five, thirteen.

“The girls are nothing alike and they act nothing alike. They are polar opposites every which way.”

The proud mum joked how, even when they were born, the doctors said Alannah and Aoife were nothing alike.

She added:

“One has jet black hair, and one has blonde hair. And Aoife is quiet as a mouse, and Alannah, when she opens her eyes, she’ll scream the house down.”

The couple became household names earlier this year following their appearance on The Babymakers.

The documentary followed six couples across the country as they attended one of Ireland’s SIMS IVF clinic.

It was hoped that the series would heighten awareness of fertility problems and also of the modern treatment options now available.
