Hilaria Baldwin shares that she has suffered a miscarriage
"We are stronger together."
Hilaria Baldwin has shared the sad news that she has miscarried.
Hilaria, who has four children with actor Alec Baldwin, said that her baby had no heartbeat at her most recent scan.
Posting a photo of her kids to Instagram, she wrote that she was "surrounded by such love".
She also thanked followers for their kind messages about her loss.
"There was no heartbeat today at my scan...so it’s over...but I have some pretty strong and amazing heartbeats right here. I am surrounded by such love and I feel so fortunate.
"Thank you all for listening, for your support, and for sharing your own personal stories.
"We are stronger together...I hope this conversation continues to grow and that we stick together through both the beautiful and challenging moments in life."
It comes less than a week after Hilaria said that she suspected she had had a miscarriage.
In a post last Friday, the yoga instructor explained that her baby wasn't growing well and had a weak heartbeat.
"So we wait—and this is hard. So much uncertainty...but the chances are very, very small that this is a viable pregnancy."
Continuing, she said that she was speaking to combat the shame around miscarriage.
"I think it’s important to show the truth," she said.
"Furthermore, I have no shame or embarrassment with this experience.
"I want to be a part of the effort to normalize miscarriage and remove the stigma from it.
"There is so much secrecy during the first trimester."
Hilaria and Stephen married in 2012.
Their children are Carmen Gabriela, five, Rafael Thomas, three, Leonardo Angel Charles, two, and ten-month-old Romeo Alejandro David.
