Jessica Simpson has announced that she is pregnant with her third child – a baby girl.
The singer and her husband, Eric Johnson, are already parents to 5-year-old Ace Knute and Maxwell Drew, 6.
The proud mum took to Instagram early on Tuesday afternoon to share her “surprise” news with fans – and enlisted some help.
She posted a photo of her two children holding black balloons with a polka dot pattern.

She then followed that up with a photo of one of the balloons after it was popped – and dozens of pink balloons were floating around.
In the caption, she said:
“This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

Fans soon flooded the comments on both photos with best wishes for the couple.
She told Us Weekly earlier this year that how being a mum is the “best opportunity and challenge” she has been blessed with.
She said:
“Right now my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgment and they’re teaching me so much.
“These little innocent kids teach me so much about life.”
Eric and Jessica first started dating in May 2010, before announcing their engagement later that year. They wed in July 2014.
