Jools Oliver Is Trying Out This Ancient Prediction Method To Find Out The Sex Of Baby #5

Trine Jensen-Burke

As someone who refused to find out the sex of my babies until the day they were born (why spoil the greatest surprise of your life?!), I can tell you right now that one of the most fun things about both my pregnancies were the guessing game.

And it looks like I am not alone.

This week, the lovely Jools Oliver shared with fans one of the techniques she’s hoping will predict the sex of her fifth child. The mum-of-four, who announced her pregnancy back in March, tried using the ancient pendulum swing test during a recent yoga class.

This, of course, works (according to the old wives’ tale) by dangling a chain with a charm over your bump. If the charm swings back and forth, according to the theory, your bump contains a boy. If it, however, swings in a circle, you are carrying a girl.

Asking the pendulum if our little baby is a boy or a girl??? Loving my Wednesday yoga thanks Nards @nadianarain so fun @jamieoliver ✨ xxx

Cleverly, the 41-year-old didn’t reveal the result of the test, but decided to let her many followers keep guessing.

Jools and Jamie Oliver are of course already parents to Poppy, 14, Daisy, 12, Petal, six, and Buddy, five.

At the time of announcing they were expecting their fifth child, Jamie Oliver told The Mirror: “I thought we’d have a couple of kids but that’s about it. Basically; I do what I’m told but she’s an amazing family maker and I just go with it.”
