The mum-of-three has been speaking about her physical changes.

Katherine Heigl has spoken about her reaction to her 50lbs weight gain post pregnancy in her most recent blog post, saying it caused “moments of sheer panic”.

“I had hoped to only gain 25-30 pounds like my mother during her pregnancies,” the actress revealed.

“But I found that just wasn’t possible for me.

“Despite starting my gestation out on a pregnancy friendly meal plan and hiking my butt off five days a week my weight kept creeping up.”

Katherine, who has two daughters through adoption, welcomed her son Joshua in December of last year.

The mum-of-three says that her pregnancy weight gain caused a lot of stress, however, after her efforts resulted in very little change, she eventually relaxed.

“At a certain point, probably around four months in, I have up the struggle and tried instead to respect my body’s needs and trust my instincts.”

Well, it seems to have worked for the actress who said less than two weeks after her baby was born she noticed a “miraculous” drop of 30lbs.

However, it hasn’t come off so quickly for her since then.

“We’ve all heard about the gals who tone up and get right back into their skinny jeans weeks after their babies birth but this was not me, nor was I trying for it to be,” she said.

The proud mum, however, left her readers with this great piece of advice.

“I have only lost 10 pounds since that first initial drop but that’s ok because I decided from the start that I was going to lovingly but patiently reclaim my pre baby body, and forgive the glorious imperfections that would forever grace my new post baby body.”
