Kathryn Thomas has admitted she went back to work "a lot sooner" than she had anticipated after the birth of her daughter, Ellie.

The 39-year-old and her fiancé, Padradig McLaughlin, welcomed their first child in March this year. Kathryn returned back to work filling in for Ray D'Arcy on RTÉ Radio 1 in August. She told The Irish Daily Mail's You magazine that Ellie is a "really good baby" and things have been going great so far. She added that she was feeling lucky as her daughter has been sleeping 12 hours a night since she was just 10 weeks old. https://www.instagram.com/p/BkoERDqFt6x/?taken-by=kathrynthomasofficial The new Ireland's Fittest Family presenter said:
"I know that there are probably mothers out there who won't want to hear that, and I get that, but it's the truth. "I just know how lucky we are because I just know without sleep that things would change completely, but so far so good."
This led to her going back to work "a lot sooner than I thought I would." https://www.instagram.com/p/BnbF8agCAvP/?taken-by=kathrynthomasofficial She continued:
"I know how lucky we are because I have a couple of friends who's had really tough times with babies with colic or they don't sleep. "But so far she's really chilled out and doing everything she should be. "
The TV presenter announced that she had welcomed her first child in March this year, calling the newborn "the most perfect thing I've ever seen." https://www.instagram.com/p/Bgvpe_kl_v8/?utm_source=ig_embed Sharing a photo of Ellie's feet, she wrote:
"Ms Ellie Mcloughlin couldn’t wait any longer to meet us. "Our gorgeous girl was born Fri 23rd March @ 10.02am. She is the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen and Mum and Dad are totally and utterly in love."
