Love Island’s Amy Hart expecting first child

Sarah McKenna Barry

Huge congratulations to Amy and Sam.

Amy Hart, who appeared on Love Island in 2019, is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Sam Rason.

Amy shared her news during an appearance on Loose Women earlier today, and revealed that she is between 13 and 14 weeks pregnant.

In the past, Amy has been open about her egg-freezing process and her interest in IVF. She made the decision to freeze her eggs after a fertility consultant told her that her egg reserves were low. However, she didn’t get pregnant by this route.

“We didn’t use the frozen eggs,” she said. “If I don’t need them in the future then I’ll donate them.”

She also shared that she plans on keeping the baby’s sex a surprise until they’re born.

“I do surprises for everyone else but I ruin every one for me,” she said. “So no, we’re not finding out.”

As for baby showers, Amy said that they’re not for her, particularly if she has other friends who are trying for a baby. She plans instead on having a “sip and see” party once the baby is born, so that her friends and family can come visit and celebrate then.

She said: “I don’t love a baby shower because if you’ve got a friend who’s trying for a baby, it makes them uncomfortable so they’ll have a sip and see party.”

Amy and Sam also announced their news in a joint Instagram post.

The post read: “Family is so important to both of us, it was a value that bonded us right from the start and we are so excited to become a family of our own in March.”

It continued: “We’ve both had individual and collective worries over the years that this may not have been the simplest process or that it may not happen at all.”

They finished up by thanking everyone for sharing their own fertility journey with Amy, and pledged to try and be “as sensitive” as they can.

“The baby will be an addition to our pages as we share our lives, not the sole focus.”

In the comments they were met with messages of congratulations from a number of other Love Island stars, including Georgia Townend, Sharon Gaffka, Rachel Finni and Tasha Ghouri.
