“I’d like to break both of his legs and then tell him that he doesn’t need pain medication.”
Some absolute misfortune was subjected to the wrath of many women (and even some men) online this week for suggesting that epidurals are unnecessary.
The man, who likely doesn’t own a uterus and so has probably never had to give birth, shared his thoughts on the matter on Reddit, a conveniently anonymous platform for such a controversial opinion.
“Personal opinion: My wife gave birth to two babies, 9lbs 10oz (10 hours labour) and 8lbs 6oz (only 2hrs for the second baby). No epidural. Women don’t NEED them at all. Never have. Since we only started using them in modern medicine. But hey, what do I know. I’m just a dude who held her hand through it twice.”
Oh boy. A man casting doubt over both a woman’s right to bodily autonomy and modern medicine was never going to go down well online, was it?
The post was picked up by a Twitter user and prompted a fairly aggressive response from other folks online.
Before modern medicine 80x the number of women died in childbirth compared to today. But hey, what do I know. I’m just a guy who knows how to Google.

How about a vasectomy with no pain meds for him as a hero cookie?

I hope someday he gets to take a 9-lb dump over the course of 18 hours while someone holds his hand. I know that would still be better than labor/childbirth since I’ve given birth twice, but it would be a good intro.

Having given birth both with and without an epidural, I can safely say I want to peel the skin off this man’s dick with a spiralizer and feed it to him.

As someone who has given birth, and labored 50 hours, 38 with no meds, 12 with an epidural: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Let’s check in on this jackass when he gets a cold.
I mean we technically don’t *need* indoor plumbing or refrigerators or cars either in that sense, but I’d like to see him function without them.

Wow I had my earrings off before I even realized that this guy is not actually physically present in front of me to have his hair ripped out

For our part, we’re giving credit to the woman who bore this man’s children, both for enduring the process without pain medication and for having put up him.
