Midwife urges mums-to-be not to ‘worry about pubic hair’ when giving birth

"We don't care if you're full bush, bald as a baby, or something exciting like a lightening bolt/vajazzled."

A midwife has urged mothers-to-be not to worry about the state of their pubic hair, or lack thereof, ahead of giving birth. She assured that midwives genuinely "won't even notice" whatever their hair situation is as long as the baby can get out safely. Taking to Reddit, the midwife known only as 'Lozza2442' urged: "Please don't worry about pubic hair."

"We don't even notice as long as you have showered in the last week," she said.

"As long as the baby can come out, we don't care if you're full bush, bald as a baby, or something exciting like a lightening bolt/vajazzled. I don't even notice any more

"It doesn't affect stitches or anything to do with our work. If you have a C section we can shave the important part for you with a sterile razor."

She continued on to say that people shouldn't be putting themselves in an "uncomfortable position trying to do something for us."

"Cause we won't even notice," she wrote. "It's like getting your hair done and your husband/friends not even noticing."

V true. Lozza's post received a lot of praise online, especially from other midwives or medical professionals who said that having worked in and around vaginas for years, nothing fazed them. "As an ob/gyn - 100 percent agreed," wrote one user. "And it’s not only pubic hair... haemorrhoids, interesting tattoos and piercings in your nether areas. "Anyone who’s been delivering babies for a few years has seen it all. Aside from safety and some basic hygiene, it really doesn’t bother us." Good to know.
