A mum-of-five has shared a candid photo of her postpartum body in an effort to fight against the pressure to “bounce back”.

Naomi Davis, the blogger being the site Love Taza, gave birth to twin girls in late May, Beatrice and Madalena.

And the mum-of-five is keen to show other mums its’ okay to still have a bump after labour.

In the caption, she explained that she is “incredibly proud of this body of mine” – and how she feels “this post partum phase can be just as special as all the other phases”.

She wrote:

“Took this photo last week at exactly one month post delivery of my baby girls. Still looking pregnant, but I can sleep on my stomach again so…

“I’m incredibly proud of this body of mine. It took 9 months to grow my two baby girls and this tummy has housed all 5 of my kiddos!

“I know it’ll take more than a month or two to ‘bounce back’ right now.

“Every pregnancy and every woman’s body is so different from the next, and this post partum phase can be just as special as all the other phases. Depends on how you look at it.”

Naomi’s Instagram post has been flooded with comments from other mums, wth many of them thanking her for showing the reality of postpartum bodies.

One mum said:

“I love you for posting this. It’s hard to feel normal when you see every mom on Instagram bounce right back. This is so appreciated!”

Another added:

“I looked the same way after both my kids! Thank you for posting this and being so honest!”
