Pregnant woman mistakes car seat cover for ‘maternity skirt’ and wears it to work

Getting ready to welcome your first child into the world is very exciting – and super confusing.

There’s a lot to get to grips with and a whole pile of new stuff you’ll need, though you won’t necessarily be sure what the stuff actually is.

One mum-to-be who got a little mixed up with her new equipment recently but who managed to see the funny side was US woman Lori Farrell.

She’s expecting her first child and was given lots of bits for the baby by a friend.

Among the things was what she thought was a funky striped skirt.

She wore it to work one day and only realised that it wasn’t a skirt at all once she was in there.

“A friend of mine had given me a huge lot of baby stuff, from clothes to baby carriers to a rocker and blankets and when I pulled it out I was not sure what it was,” Lori told Motherly.

“I debated it but washed it anyway then decided because of the way it pulled on the side it must be a maternity skirt.

“When I got to work I Googled the brand and realized not only do they not sell clothing but it was a car seat cover.”

The cover is by Itzy Ritzy, a baby accessory brand.

After copping on to her mistake, Lori posted a photo of herself wearing her new ‘skirt’ to Facebook.

“If you feel like a failure today, just know that I wore a car seat cover a friend gave me because I thought it was a skirt,” she wrote alongside the snap.
