New mum shares honest and raw picture of her stretch marks after twins

'A forever reminder.'

Your body changes a lot when you’re pregnant.

Things get bigger, clothes get smaller, and stretch marks appear on your stomach, hips, back… basically everywhere that there is skin, really.

Most of us have stretch marks some place or another, whether we’ve been pregnant or not.

And yet, the marks are still a source of embarrassment or shame for many of us.

This is slowly but surely changing and one mum who is helping erase the stigma around non-‘perfect’ bodies is Hayley Garnett.

Hayle recently gave birth to twins, Ruby and Roma.

She also has a toddler name Archer who, according to her, one day asked her what was “wrong” with her belly.

Hayley’s response was nothing short of perfect.

“I told him that all of my babies leave marks on my belly so that I never forget for a second that I grew them in my body all on my own and that they exist earthside with me now!

“A forever reminder, whether I’m truly confident having these marks or not, it’s no doubt a testament to the miracles my body has made.”

The mum-of-three also included a stunning photo of her stomach one week after the birth of her twins.

Hayley’s photo has been widely praised on Instagram.

Having received over 11,000 likes already, it’s safe to say that social media users are big fans of Hayley’s honest approach to the post-birth body.

“This truly changed my life,” wrote one person.

“This is so beautiful and important to share,” said another.
