A mum of triplets has been praised online for sharing photos of her postpartum body.

Copenghagen mum Maria Jorstad welcomed her triplets, Iben, Agnes, and Filip, one month ago after a long pregnancy that she documented thoroughly on Instagram.

Her babies were delivered via C-section and even though the parents were absolutely delighted to welcome their three children, Maria hasn’t been shy about sharing photos of her postpartum belly and her struggle to accept its appearance.

Posting a photo a few weeks ago, Maria wrote that she was “surprised” that her stomach hadn’t gone down.

She wrote:

“I still have a weird looking hanging belly, and I am a bit surprised it has not gotten smaller since my last picture three weeks ago. Kind of disappointing I must admit, and I am not too happy to share this picture.

“On the positive side the c-section scar doesn’t hurt anymore, and in the last two days I’ve almost felt like myself again! Except for this heavy sagging belly that is.”

The photo that Maria shared just one week after giving birth to her triplets showed a similar belly that she admitted was “heavy” and “so stretched.”

“My uterus has not shrinked back yet. Because my belly was so stretched it takes longer than usual,” she wrote.

Maria said that she was planning on using some belly binders to speed up her recovery process.

She was instantly praised online by followers who said that she was inspiring for posting such honest photos about her postpartum body.

The new mum said that even after seven days, her babies began to show personality and strength.

The trio were officially released from the hospital just over one week ago.
