Pregnancy: Rotunda Hospital launches innovative virtual maternity open week

The current pandemic has been a pretty stressful time for expectant mums but that should never mean that they should be without all the supports pre-Covid mums could avail of. The Rotunda Hospital, Ireland’s busiest and leading maternity hospital, is delighted to announce that their third annual maternity information event will take place virtually from September 27 to October 3. The Virtual Maternity Open Week will be hosted on the hospital website and on social media platforms due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Prospective parents and mums-to-be will be able to get key information on a diverse range of topics and services that the Rotunda Hospital offers. From September 14 to 26, a dedicated page on the hospital’s website will be live and questions can be submitted ahead of the event. The team of leading obstetricians, midwives, fertility specialists, sonographers, dietitians, and physiotherapists will be on hand to answer questions on Instagram and Facebook about a wide range of topics, some of which are listed below: Professor Fergal Malone, Master of the Rotunda Hospital said:

“We are delighted to announce the return of our annual maternity event this year. While we would love to meet prospective and new parents in person, we are looking forward to launching the virtual series. The week-long event this year will be unique and interactive, as it will be guided by our ‘virtual attendees’ who will have the opportunity to submit questions to our multidisciplinary team. In these uncertain times, the Rotunda Hospital remains committed to providing easy access to information so that parents can prepare for their journey to parenthood.”
