A mum-to-be is asking for advice after her family said they think she's mad for wanting to get dolled up to give birth to her baby.
She took to the popular parenting forum
Netmums to see if others did the same and if anyone agrees with her. Explaining herself, she said:
"A few of my family members think I’m absolutely mad for wanting my makeup, tan lashes and hair done for giving birth... I’m due to be induced on Tuesday I just wanted to see what you lovely ladies thought on the matter."
One person said they did the same when they were expecting their baby:
"Nothing wrong with that at all! It might not last well when you’re sweating through labour and they may have to take nail varnish off should you need an emergency c section but go for it! I had an induction first time and it ended in an emcs but I had a planned section last year and did my tan etc!"
While another said they are due soon and have already had all their appointments:
"Each to their own! I’m due Sunday and have done my nails, waxing and had my hair cut. I want to look my best when meeting my cherub for the first time."
Some others agree that it's a bit mad:
"Yes I think you are mad. I am with your family on this. You are going to be giving birth not strutting your stuff in a nightclub."
"I think your mad, near my due date I could barely brush my hair let alone all that faff. Waste of time, energy and money to me but I’m not you so do what makes you happy."
What do you think? Would you want to 'doll up' before you head to the hospital to have your baby?
