She had previously told her boss that she would need four weeks off in December to have her baby. The mum-to-be then realised that she hadn't been assigned any upcoming shifts.
Denton, from Washington State, was encouraged to sue the company by many people who saw her post online.
The law there states that it is "unfair practice" to dismiss a person from a job due to childbirth or pregnancy.
The owner of the store said that the employee who sent the message and fired Denton should not have done so and that the dismissal “...should have never ever happened. It's our policy to treat everybody equally."
The employee is question since resigned from their position and Denton was offered her old job back.
