Reality Star Charlotte Crosby Speaks Out About Ectopic Pregnancy

Reality star Charlotte Crosby has spoken out about having an ectopic pregnancy.

The 26-year-old opened up about the experience in an interview with heat magazine. At the time, she was back together with her on-off beau Gary Beadle.

Charlotte’s busy schedule meant that she didn’t get a chance to renew her prescription for the pill so she took the morning-after pill just before the end of the 72-hour window.

Days later, she was taken to hospital as she was in agony. She explained: “(Doctors) put me in a wheelchair and I collapsed out of it. I was fitting on the floor and it was just so scary.

“I didn’t know what the hell was going on and I was in so much pain. Then the x-ray showed how much damage had been caused.

“Because I’d left it a week, it’d torn open my fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. He said: ‘If you’d left it any longer, you could have died.’”

The television personality, who ended her relationship soon after amid claims he had been unfaithful, underwent an emergency operation to have the tube removed.

She revealed: “I was so scared that I wasn’t going to be able to have babies. I want to have children… they reassured me that I’d still be able to have children, I’d just have to try a bit harder.”

An ectopic pregnancy affects 1 in 80 pregnancies. It means a pregnancy which implants outside the uterus.

The majority of ectopic pregnancies happen in the fallopian tube but they can also occur in the ovaries, cervix or abdomen.
