Ryan Reynolds’ Advice To Fathers About Childbirth Is Pretty Much Perfection

Trine Jensen-Burke

Ryan Reynolds, actor, hottie and dad of two little girls with wife Blake Lively, is pretty much winning the internet (and our collective swoons) these days.

And not just because he is so goddamn hot (which he is – obvs), but also because he is killing it (fatherhood, life, everything) on Twitter. And because he has now gone ahead and offered up some pretty priceless words of wisdom for any dads about to head into the delivery room to support their wives in labour.

Following the birth of his second child with Lively, Reynolds has come good, hard-earned advice, thanks to his own experience in the delivery room.

“Be in the room, you’re not Don Draper,” the actor explained to GQ, “Your wife will never think it’s funny or charming if you tip your imaginary top hat and say, ‘At your cervix.’ Don’t do that.”

But he did also have some sage words for the partner not having the baby.

“Realise that you’re pretty much the least important thing in the room,” Reynolds shares. “It’s gonna go your wife, your baby, the doctor, a nurse, a doula if you have one… the air.”

Expectant dads, are you writing this down?
