A massive congrats to all involved.
Orange is the New Black‘s Danielle Brooks has given birth to her first child.
The actor, who has played Tasytee Jefferson in the Netflix series for seven seasons, announced the news today via an Instagram post.
She shared a lovely black and white photo of her newborn baby girl, as well as the incredibly detailed caption: “11.16.19. She’s perfect.”

Brooks announced that she and her partner were expecting their first child earlier this year, via a #spon post of her holding up a Clearblue pregnancy test.
The test was, of course, positive.
“So elated to finally share this news with you all,” she wrote. “I’m happily pregnant!”
The actor recently told PEOPLE that she was both excited and nervous at the prospect of becoming a mother – which seems fair enough, yeah.

“I’m excited to teach her how to be a woman in this world without worrying about judgment and give her the freedom to be the person that she wants to be,” she said.
“Then getting to see that person come to life and grow and change their opinions. I’m excited to see this little human!”
Brooks is currently starring in the seventh and final series of Orange is the New Black, which is now streaming on Netflix.
