One mum has shared a golden bit of advice with new breastfeeding mothers and we’re sorry we didn’t think of this sooner.
Mum Cassondra Rolland posted a TikTok of the simple way she stores her breastmilk and is receiving heaps of praise from mums across the globe!
She explained that storing your breast milk flat in the freezer rather than upright is the best thing to do. This method means the milk doesn’t take as long to de-freeze.
“You freeze ’em flat. “You do this, you’ve got a brick — it takes forever to unthaw,” she said.

She then told viewers that they can stand the bag upright once it is fully frozen. This way you can move it into individual storage boxes in the freezer.
The mum advised fellow breastfeeding mothers to get a large zip-top freezer bag and place multiple bags of breast milk inside. Write the date and how many ounces are in each bag on the front and voilà!
“My daycare lady loves that I do this. This way she doesn’t have 100 individual bags to deal with.” she shared.
“It just works so well; easier to organize, and to keep track of how much you have.”
Mums couldn’t help but comment on how much breast milk was in the freezer, but Cassondra said she will be donating it if it isn’t used up in time.
