Study Says You Need To Do THIS During Pregnancy To Have Active Kids

The findings of an experiment suggest that if you exercise while pregnant, your child is more likely to lead an active lifestyle.

Reports explain that experts at Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University conducted a study to determine whether the mother’s physical activity levels during pregnancy have any impact on the offspring.

It was found that pregnant mice who were given access to running wheels gave birth to more active offspring*, compared to those who were denied the chance to exercise.

Speaking about the study, pediatric professor and co-author Robert Waterland told the New York Times: “A mother’s physical activity during pregnancy likely affects the physical activity of her offspring.”

While the study involved mice, as opposed to humans, the two are said to have the same basic physiology so it is argued that the same theory could apply to us.

*They were found to be more active in adolescence and adulthood. The findings were published in The FASEB Journal.
