Finding out the gender of your baby and telling your friends and family is always an exciting time, but this YouTube couple went all out.
Recently we were chatting about gender reveals here at HerFamily and one of the most bizarre ones we’ve ever seen came up in conversation.
The video in question is from 2017 and was posted by American YouTube couple, Nellie and Bryce Jurgy whose channel, The Jurgys, has almost 200,000 subscribers.
Following Nellie’s cancer scare a few years ago, the couple committed themselves to travelling and living an adventurous life and when they discovered Nellie was pregnant, their gender reveal was just as exciting as their lifestyle.
Before Nellie and Bryce's little girl, Avalyn, was born the couple did something pretty incredible and hired a hot air balloon to do their gender reveal.
The Jurgys gathered their friends and family together and everyone speculated what the sex of the baby might be. The couple themselves thought they were having a boy and Nellie said she would be “shocked if it’s a girl”.
When they were up in the air the couple got their friends and family to release balloons that would either be pink or blue to signify the sex of the baby.
Pink balloons flew up into the sky and much to the couple’s surprise and delight, they found out they were having a little girl. They also recorded a sweet message for their future child to watch saying:
“We love you already. We thought you might have been a boy but we’re thrilled you’re a girl.”
Bryce also asked his subscribers to offer advice as he joked:
“I need to know how to raise a girl.”
Well, the couple seems to be doing a brilliant job as little Avalyn looks happy and healthy and enjoying her adventurous lifestyle.
