TV Presenter Sarah Cawood Highlights Risk Associated With C-Section Scars

HerFamily

Former television presenter Sarah Cawood is trying to raise awareness after she found herself in a life-threatening situation as a result of her Caesarean section.

The Metro reports that the stay at home mum took to her Twitter account this week to reveal that she became very sick when her bowel twisted around her C-section scar.

She explained: “So my bowel tried to kill me on Friday. It got twisted round my C-section scar and killed itself and went septic.”

“However, I pulled through & I’m here 2 carry on annoying you all! Here I am 2day Just had horrid nose tube removed [sic].”

Sarah (43), who has two children called Hunter (4) and Autumn (2), was rushed to the hospital when she started experiencing sudden pains in her abdomen.

As with any birth, there are risks involved with having a C-section but for many women, it is the safest way to deliver their child and Sarah’s is a story worth knowing.

Complications can happen following such a procedure and may result in surgery, which is why women should take any symptoms (such as severe abdominal pain, swelling or bleeding) seriously.
