“I’m calling it Hagrid.”
There are lots of things about having a baby that come as a surprise to women, not least the fact that your body goes through such odd changes.
One such change that a mum-to-be might be surprised by is growing hair in places where it wasn’t before, like your belly.
Monique Bowley, an expectant mum from Australia, took to social media this week to show the unfiltered truth about how her body has changed.
She shared a photo of her growing bump and the ‘treasure trail’ she’s gained since falling pregnant.
“In the interests of balancing out perfect Instagram pregnancy posts, BEHOLD my HAIRY STOMACH. I’m calling it Hagrid and I love it sick,” she wrote.
She even went as far as tagging her obstetrician Dr Joseph Sgroi to tell him that she’ll no longer be removing her belly hair.
“I’m sorry @drjosephsgroi but I’m not shaving it down for you anymore.
“Your doppler will have to deal,” she joked.
The post has been liked over 800 times, with lots of fellow mums and mums-to-be sharing their own odd pregnancy experiences.
“With my first, I remember my 8 year old brother horrified at seeing my hairy belly and suggesting a bear could live in there!,” commented one follower.
“Hahahaha yes! I’ve been plucking my stomach hairs but they keep multiplying. Don’t even get me started on the nipple hair,” wrote another.
