Viral video shows exactly what a person goes through when they have a c-section

The easy way out? Hold my drink…

It’s rarely anyone’s first choice and often involves a certain amount of labouring anyway, if it’s an emergency cesarean. So the notion that it’s the easy option has thankfully been put to rest for the most part.

But in case anyone was still in any doubt about how major an operation it is, this viral video that shows just how many incisions need to be made in order for the surgeon to reach the baby, should clear things up.

I hasten to add that I’ve had an emergency cesarean and, although the circumstances were a little worrying, it was peaceful and successful and my recovery was as straightforward as you could hope for with no residual complications. Thank heavens for the medical science that brought my son here safely when he was in distress. Sign me up to the c-section fan club.

So it’s not necessary something to fear either. That’s why I like this video — it shows the extent of what happens, without trying to scare anyone.
