It revealed that she was actually only six-weeks pregnant, but she also had a 12-inch cyst growing inside of her, crushing her womb.
"When we were sent for a scan, our nightmare began," she told the publication.
"My pregnancy bump was actually a huge mass. My unborn baby was tiny, far too small to even create a bump."
As the cyst was crushing Kirsty's organs, the doctors had to intervene, but because her baby was still so small, they decided to wait five weeks until it grew a bit bigger.
However, more devastating news was just around the corner, as just days before the surgery, Kirsty suffered from a miscarriage.
"When I had a scan the week before, I was told there was no heartbeat. My baby had been overcome by the huge cyst. I was heartbroken."
The surgery went ahead as planned, but because of the size of the cyst, it caused irreparable damage to her ovaries.
Kirsty wanted to tell the media about her situation, in the hope that other women will become more aware of the condition.
"It was so traumatic losing my baby, then my ovary and recovering from surgery last year.
"I hope my story raises awareness for cysts and how dangerous they can be. I wasn't taking much notice of my body but now I'm always vigilant in case it comes back."
However, there is some good news for Kirsty, as recent tests showed that she can still have children.
She hopes to start a family with her boyfriend, Cleren, in the near future.
